Update

It has been a while since I've updated the blog! I have a tendency to take pictures of things and then never upload them to share. So here are some of those pictures with a promise that I will blog more frequently this summer... We have tons if fun planned!

Seed sorting during our farm unit. Some of the children made the observation that some of the seeds looked a lot like peas and corn!

Fly swatters make great bubble blowers so we took a bunch outside on a windy day and the playground was full of bubbles and running children.

Our school is blessed to have a huge field and this spring it was full of dandelions. We picked a bunch and added them to our water table. Eventually the water turned orange which led to many great questions and opportunities for problem solving.

Our sand house was the center of attention when we added boxes, beads, and maps. Our little mateys dug some big holes, found great treasures, and had lots of fun. Arrrgh!

During our insect unit we talked a lot about the characteristics of insects... Six legs and three body parts. When I pulled out our geoboards and added some spiders for web making it was quickly pointed out that spiders are NOT insects, but they enjoyed the activity anyway!
