Pumpkin Art

We had a blast drawing on pumpkins! We used washable markers to draw faces and designs and then used baby wipes to wipe the pumpkin clean.

The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything has quickly become one of our favorite books. It is a repetitive book about a little old lady who runs into different pieces of clothing that make different noises. We gathered some instruments and the children help tell the story by using an instrument for each noise that the clothes make. Their little faces are priceless as they anxiously wait for their turn to play an instrument!

We Love Pumpkins!

Our preschool and toddler classes are learning about pumpkins. We have been singing our favorite pumpkin songs ("Five Little Pumpkins" and "Oh Once I Had A Pumpkin"). Our rooms are filled with mini pumpkins and gourds that we will open and carve next week. The preschool class has been talking about the life cycle of a pumpkin and today we got to plant sine pumpkin seeds! This afternoon our room will be filled with the smell of pumpkin bread that the children made. I love fall!

Baby Moses

Each week, our dear friend Wanda shares a Bible story with our preschool class. She uses props to tell the stories and has been bringing a "desert" box for the children to touch. Today's story is about baby Moses and how his mom trusted God enough to send her small baby down the river in a basket. We set up a sensory tub with a baby, a basket, some rocks, and some bulrushes so the children can act out the story.
